Just one more quick blog before I head off on an adventure. I’ve decided to enter the ‘Life at ITC’ photography competition.

It’s my first time to enter a photography competition (not sure if the Blog Awards count?) and seeing as I’ve been taking pictures around the college for the last three years I figured why the hell not!? Each contestant has to enter five photographs based on the broad theme ‘Life at IT Carlow‘. The only problem being that I’ve been so busy lately I haven’tstudio-2.jpg had much time to take some new pics around the college.

So I’ve gone back through quite literally thousands of photographs, that I’ve taken in college over the last three years to pick out my entries. This has meant that some of my entries were taken on my old Panasonic FZ10, with very obvious less quality than the D80, but I’m not too concerned about it.

I’ve tried to pick five photographs that weren’t the standard cheesey photos of students smiling and studying. These are however probably the exact kind of thing they’re looking for, to fill next years prospectus. Once again, I’m not too nights-out.jpgconcerned, just getting my first competition out of the way.

Instead the five pictures I’ve chosen pretty much capture my average day in college; from the early mornings going to college as the sun was coming up, to classes in the T.V studio, hours hanging out in the library or canteen, right up to late nights in the foundry. They could probably use a couple of the shots for a prospectus and I thrown in a couple of nice silouhettes. Who knows? Who cares! I’m on holidays…
