Nominations for the 2008 Irish Blog Awards have been announced, with KilkennyMusic, Ken and myself featuring on the longlists.

For the second year in a row KKM has made the list and I have to say we’re delighted! Last year proved to be quite theawards_14.jpg adventure and I think the blog has come along way since then. There’s 25 nominees on the music blog list, we’re still under no illusions of actually winning, but hopefully we’ll make it through to the finals again this year. If for nothing else but the excuse of a roadtrip to Dublin, for the Awards on the 1st of March.

The Chief is also nominated in ‘Best Blog Design‘ for his techblog Kenmc.com. How he manages to design and run so awards_10.jpgmany different blogs is beyond me, but I’d love to see him win the award with all the hardwork he’s putting in. In case you haven’t seen it, check out his latest design for the SoundSystem Podcast, it looks awesome!

And finally, I’m delighted to say I’m on the list for ‘Best Photo Blog‘. I’ve already had a look at the otherawards.jpg nominees and some of them are brilliant! I’m quite happy to have just made it on the list and I’m hoping I’ll make contact with some other photo bloggers.

So we’ve made it through the first stage, all that’s left for me to say is; thanks to all of you who nominated us, now it’s up to the judges.

UPDATE: Since I posted this blog earlier it’s been brought to my attention that we’ve been nominated in other categories as well! KilkennyMusic is on the long list for ‘Best Blog‘, kenmc.com has also been nominated for ‘Best Technology Blog‘, and he’s on the ‘Best Sports Blog‘ list for Liverpool Access.

And much to my surprise, I got a message from Chemical Addiction to point out that the post I did about spending time in the studio with the lads, “Studio Addiction“, has also been nominated for ‘Best Blog Post‘!? I have no idea where that came from but I’m delighted!
