“Hey Nominators! Nominate this!”

As the Chief has already announced on the KKM forums; last year KilkennyMusic.com was nominated for the ‘Best Music Blog’ at the 2007 Irish Blog Awards. We never expected to win but it really was a great achievement for us to be shortlisted to the final five. And whilst I’m still under no delusion that we’d win the award this year, it really would be great to be nominated again.

The recognition received by KilkennyMusic.com just being nominated last year helped us in so many ways to improve the services we provide to Independent Irish Musicians and music fans. We’ve expanded in every possible direction from blogging, podcasting, recordings, photography, promotion, gigs, giving seminars, videos, websites…the list goes on. And as Ken said “people read, people listen and people seem to enjoy what we produce (or at least that’s what we’re told!)“

Just being nominated for something like this improves our chances of funding and possible sponsorship so we can continue to expand and do more to promote local music in every way we can. All we need is your help! So if you want to help us out here at KKM then nominate KilkennyMusic.com for the ‘Best Music Blog’ at the Irish Blog Awards 2008.

I’ve pondered over this next part for a while but why not!? Thanks to the Chief for suggesting my own photoblog, for a nomination in the Best PhotoBlog section, and whilst I’d be under even less delusion of winning that award, I think just the recognition of being nominated would no doubt help me to attract attention and possible photography work.
