Atrax Mantis looking for new guitarist

It’s over a week since my last post, there’s several reasons for this between several different photoshoots, adventures and of course the usual college stuff, all of which I’ll blog about at a later date, but I had to give this a mention;

Fresh off the KKM Forum comes the announcement that 2007 Battle of the Bands winners Atrax Mantis have unfortunately parted ways with guitarist Eoin Brett. I’m not sure of the details but I was pretty surprised by the news. According to Atrax voKILList T; “We’re disappointed and saddened to have Eoin leave but if it’s what he wants we’ll fully support him.”

The good news is that “it ended on good terms and he’s still as much of a friend to us as he ever was“. And Atrax Mantis won’t let this be a set back as they still plan to hit the studio very soon to record their debut E.P ‘Condemned to Hatred’. The “foul as fuck” metallers will be searching for a replacemen, “even though Eoin’s shoes will be very hard to fill.”

As far as I’m concerned this is a great opportunity for any local metal guitarist to join a band that have continued to grow musically and in popularity over the last year. The Atrax lads have continued to go from strength to strength, they’ve played support to the likes of Slave Zero, Abysmal Torment and Sanatorium and they’re definitely on my list of bands to watch out for in 2008. They’re currently looking for a new guitarist, at least 17 or 18 years old and somebody that will be totally dedicated to the band.
