KilkennyMusic Engineer and Itchy Trigger Finger sticksman, Alan Dawson, has officially parted ways with the local progressive metal outfit. Daw joined the band just under two years ago and was responsible for engineering and producing their E.P ‘The Wrong Side of Misery’, which was released last summer.![]()
As I’m a huge fan of Itchy Trigger Finger and have worked with the band for the last two years, it’s not easy to have to make this announcement. But after talking to Daw about the situation it’s clear that “there’s no hard feelings or anything, I just seem to want to go in a different direction.”
Daw is currently working with Atrax Mantis and Chemical Addiction on their upcoming E.P’s and he has been writing material for new projects of his own. “There’s a couple of things in the works; the Happy Medium will be rehearsing new songs in the coming weeks. And I’ve written alot of music that just doesn’t work with
ITF, I’d like to spend some time pursuing this.”
I’m not sure exactly what this means for Itchy Trigger Finger, but rest assured that according to frontman Jimmy Trigger “it’s not the end of ITF”. The band will be looking for a temporary replacement until they find a new drummer and they still plan to launch their extremely long awaited new website, along with some live tracks and a video for “What Have We Done Now”.
As soon as I hear more, I’ll keep you posted.
