I don’t know what it is, maybe it’s just coincidence or some severe bad luck, but it seems my ugly war against technology has entered even more alarming and depressing depths in recent weeks.For some reason technology has a habit of not living long when I own it!?

Over the years, I’ve broken everything from watches to washing machines, I’ve made toasters explode, I’ve made hoovers implode, I’ve broken a brand new video camera in two days, only to break the replacement a day later, that inturn was replaced with another one which struggled for months and then eventually died!?

It’s not that I mistreat any of this equipment, I follow the instructions step-by-step and I use them only for their intended uses! I’m not clumsy, I don’t drop them or anything!? Yet they seem to have a very short life span around me. In recent weeks I have some new technological casualties to add to my growing list;

1. My external hard-drive seems to have (for no reason what so ever) just stopped working!? My computer doesn’t even see it anymore, so I’m still pondering how to retrieve over 2 years work which is backed up on it!?

2. I’ve lost my iPod! Okay, so it didn’t break but I’m pretty sure it escaped to survive. Which in turn leaves me with hour upon hour of commuting to college with only the real world to listen to!

3. My charger for my Powerbook seems to have melted through itself!? I’m not sure if I made it do this somehow!? This led to a roadtrip in search of an expensive replacement (the roadtrip plagued with bad traffic), only to find the shop didn’t have one and would have to order it. After returning home to Kilkenny, the woman from the shop called and it turns out they do actually have one!?

Am I the only person experiencing some battle with the lifespan of technology!? Am I cursed!? I can only hope that this blog post doesn’t some how manage to bring down the internet!?
