A little bit of everything.

I missed the OneTake Sessions on Thursday, due to the fact that I was sick as a dog. I’m told it was another great night of free entertainment, I’m looking forward to hearing some of the tracks on the upcoming Sound System Podcast. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, “we’re back!” with the Sound System Podcasts in case you didn’t know. A new show went online this week and as always is FREE TO DOWNLOAD, so make sure you check out all the usual madness as we return with show number 18.

Not much time for being sick at the moment, we’re elbows deep in work with Cannibal the Musical only weeks away. Myself and Niamh Moroney are finalising the “severed hands” press packs, finally adding the finger nails, some latex for torn skin and ridiculous amounts of blood. There’s still some work to be done before the press packs are sent out next week but with the great poster and loads of devious goodies held in a severed bloody hand we’re gonna have to catch somebodies attention.

I’m organising to meet up with Bob Ryan (drummer for Slave Zero & Nearly Dead Jim) to get an interview about Slave Zero’s recent deal with Seattle based Black Sheep Records. The interview will become the first of what I hope is many interviews with local musicians to provide people with a bit of inside information. There’s also plans for a KilkennyMusic.com Hall of Fame and the street-team in the works. Along with the hopes of starting some video podcasting.

I’ll be starting alot of work on the Trig & Boo movie over the next few days, trying to get things organised so we can finally begin shooting as soon as possible. Myself & Boo came up with a few new ideas during the week and a few changes to the script to make it easier for us to make but also funnier, we hope! Which reminds me, Alan Slattery has another new showreel up on his website. It’s about 3 minutes long, and well worth the watch to see the variety of work Sla has been involved in.

I probably won’t get to do a post tomorrow, seeing as there’s a Devious committee meeting in the morning, and no doubt the “to do” lists will be growing again. After that, I’m off to the Zoo Club for the 2nd Heat of the Kilkenny Battle of the Bands 2007. I’ll get some photos from the 2nd Heat posted as soon as possible and hopefully a little feedback aswell. And if last Sunday is anything to go by, it’ll mean the judges (myself, Daw, Ken and Boo) will be out on the beer for the bank holiday festivities, with all of them looking to score valueable Waster points in the last stages of a Summer Well Wasted 2!

I’ve still got to finalise my work experience in a local photography studio, which will hopefully lead to some new projects I want to work on. There’s still a chance of throwing together some prints for an exhibition during Arts Week, I think I might have left it way to late at this stage though.
