Everything is taking a bit of a backseat at the moment as I try to keep my head down and get some study done for my exams which begin next week, I must admit it’s driving me up the wall at this stage. So a quick blog just to add a couple more bands to my ‘Oss237 Recommends’ list.

laminate.jpgFirst up, Wexford alternative rockers, Laminate. The lads first made an appearance at the KilkennyMusic Xmas Bash 2006 and I’ve been hooked ever since. Brilliantly catchy tunes and unbelieveable onstage energy means you’re guaranteed a good time when these guys are around. I’ve seen them twice since, once in the Zoo and again at the pissup after the Irish Blog Awards in Dublin, hopefully they’ll be back with us over the summer.

Next up, Mullingar rockers, Waiting to Explode. Again, they first made an appearance at the Xmas party and are due back to us very soon for the OneTake Sessions and a night in Cleeres. I’ve got a review of thewaiting-to-explode.jpg lad’s self-titled E.P on the way and can’t wait to hear them live again. Don’t miss these gigs people!

Finally I’ve got to include, alternative reggae group, the Happy Medium, featuring KKM staff members Daw & Ken. Currently out of action due to the departure of bassist Thomas ‘Moff’ Flood, but hopefully we’ll be hearing more from the lads soon as the summer brings the reggae mood back. You can check out my pics of daw.jpgthe boys in studio and live, in their KKM gallery.

So there you go, three more great bands to check out. Now I’m off to study management theories written a couple of hundred years ago which I’ll probably never need to know for any reason other than passing that stupid exam.
