Rejuvination At Ken McGuire Photography

2008 is the year I plan to get my arse in gear in a lot of areas, between my work, music, theatre and my photography.

In an effort to do this, I’ve taken a marginally different approach to kenmcguirephotography.com and I’m being really optimistic by going for one picture a day, which at the end of the year should see me with 365 pieces in the gallery, something I’d be happy enough with.

I’ve a little bit of work still to do on the site, as in writing a comments template so that people browsing the site can leave their own thoughts on on the photos, and I plan to open an online store this year. Few of you know that I used to sell large prints of my photos.

The move is part of a number of changes I’m making in the way I do things online and how I do things for myself. This is certainly one of those situations where I’m doing something for myself. Have van, will travel. Have a home (Sligo) away from home (Kilkenny). Have an urge to travel outside of Ireland more than once this year (already been to Germany in January), so “will travel”.

Over the course of the year I intend to introduce the afore mentioned store which will retail a number of my prints and commercial works as well as new pieces published throughout 2008.

The gallery has an RSS feed as well, if you add http://feeds.feedburner.com/kenmcphoto to your feed reader you’ll get the daily gallery updates, or just stop by kenmcguirephotography.com. Rather than categorising everything on the gallery (will leave that for the store), you’ll find all images on the one page, with the latest ten appearing on the homepage. I’ll be introducing a tagging search for the site as well, as opposed to categories to help you get around particular groups of images.

Simple.
