I turned up in the KCLR studios here in Kilkenny this morning to the following comments

  • “Hello…. again”
  • “You’re not here again, are you?
  • Have you moved in yet?
  • We’ll have to get an office for you - are you looking for a job?”

For the fourth time in four days I found myself there, having paid an ad invoice on Wednesday, recorded some ads as a favour on Thursday, guesting on the week review on Friday and finally this morning to pre-record a segment for Jenny Nolan’s arts show (Culture Club?) alongside ArtLinks director Cathy Fitzgerald.

The segment tomorrow is likely somewhere around 10 minutes and I pop up in the middle of it to discuss KKM’s involvement with ArtLinks and series of professional development courses that myself, Daw and Ross will be taking part in. If you listen in to the show you’ll hear Cathy and myself fill you in on the details of the upcoming ArtLinks day-long event ‘Getting Ahead In The Music Industry’ which will be held in The Parade Tower on November 10th before “transplanting” itself to Wicklow on November 24th.

If you’re near a radio tomorrow then tune into KCLR 96FM (Kilkenny / Carlow / South East) from 8pm tomorrow. I’ll grab an MP3 of the segment if I’m around to do it. Failing that, hit KCLR96fm.com and listen to the live stream.

The good news, revealed at the end of the segment and on ArtLinks.ie today is that as a musician, visual artist, writer, director or anything inbetween you can put yourself in line for a share of a €40,000 bursary being issued by ArtLinks. The money will be split between the five counties involved meaning that someone involved in the arts (through whatever medium) in Kilkenny is in line for €8,000. To qualify for the bursary you must meet a few terms and conditions but other than that you need to be registered (for free) on ArtLinks.ie.

The the KilkennyMusic.com homepage for more on the bursaries and Art Links courses.
