Picked up a link to this today. With post-show blues kicking in in the aftermath of Cannibal and Heart Shaped Vinyl (no time to grieve the loss of that show back at the end of June thanks to immediate rehearsals for Cannibal) I need a laugh for the night and this short clip is enough to trigger it off.

I’m absolutely fucked wrecked from the past week, having been practically living in the theatre for Cannibal! The Musical! with our terrific company of devious actors. I will say though that while the post-show blues suck they’re not as bad as they’ve been on other shows. I think actors, in general, who come in for the a show - the rehearsal period and performance period - get an immense sense of loss when a show finishes as it is over almost as soon as it started.

Me on the other hand, I’ve been working with The Devious Theatre Company for almost 16 months now and doing the day-to-day work has lessened the sense of loss on a show and heightened the overall sense of achievement instead….

Although I feel like something has been pure ripped out of my chest (likely my heart), I’ve also got planning to do for the next production or series of productions, a load of post-show activities (namely paying bills) and meetings to attend and plenty to be getting on with.

For now though I’m going to laugh at this idiot on the stage.
